Creatures of the Sonoran Desert

The Sonoran Desert is home to incredible flora and fauna, including the giant saguaro, cholla, ocotillo, lizards, snakes, javelinas, birds, and more. In April, during our Arizona Desert Explorer tour, the wildflowers and cacti are often blooming adding more brilliance to this already incredible ecosystem.
Though we see many of these creatures in the natural settings in the many parks we visit on our tour, we also make a trip to the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, just outside of Saguaro National Park, which brings all these creatures up close and personal. It is an outdoor natural history and botanical gardens and zoo with a focus on conservation and research of the Sonoran Desert.
Although we would prefer you come and explore the Sonoran Desert with us, we’ll share some photos with you!
