Glacier National Park is a hiker’s paradise, but there are many other fabulous activities to take part in as well!
The historic Red Bus Tour is a great way to view the Going to the Sun Road. These vehicles were refurbished by Ford. Their open tops allow you to take in all the views while someone else is doing the driving! The Going to the Sun Road is an engineering feat, and there is no better way to experience it!
There are at least 3 opportunities throughout the park to take in a scenic boat tour. You can sit back and take in the surroundings or participate in a combo scenic boat tour/guided hike!
If you like a little bit more action, rent a kayak for a few hours and explore Lake MacDonald, Swiftcurrent Lake, or St Mary’s Lake on your own.
Horseback rides of various lengths and levels are offered at both Lake MacDonald and Many Glacier.
Other activities include tours of the historic hotels, ranger programs, and white water rafting. Don’t forget to sample some of the many huckleberry treats! We especially like the ice cream at Many Glacier!
