Exploring Dry Tortugas National Park
A day trip out to Dry Tortugas National Park, a part of our Florida Everglades and Keys tour, is truly a magical experience. Our day begins in Key West on the Yankee Freedom Catamaran which will serve as our home base for the day. The Yankee Freedom Crew takes great care of us, serving us breakfast as we begin the 70 mile boat ride out to the Dry Tortugas Islands.
Once we arrive, the Park is yours to explore! Take a guided tour of historic Fort Jefferson or you can explore it on your own. Whether you are a history buff, or just love beautiful landscapes, you will find this place fascinating!
Next, discover the incredible wildlife that thrives here! Go under the alluring blue waves and discover incredible sea life with your complimentary snorkeling equipment. Or stay above the water and watch for the more than 300 species of birds that migrate through these islands each year.
The Yankee Freedom Crew also provides us with a tasty lunch. And if you just want to sit back and relax, take your towel down to the beach and gaze out into the endless blue green sea.
