We love hearing great comments like “That was a great hike!” and “What a terrific view” on our tours, but we know that we can only take so much credit for that. But we can take credit for the food, as we make it all! We think it is important to provide healthy and satisfying meals to keep our guests fueled for the day’s activities. But really we love to cook and eat good food too!
One meal that gets particular recognition is our Navajo Stew with Fry Bread. Driver/guide Ardell created this recipe based on a stew he once had in New Mexico.  This dish is usually everyone’s favorite of the tour as it is so unique. When guests come back for another tour, they demand we serve this stew! What’s in it? Well you’ll have to come on a tour to find out the whole recipe, but here are a few key ingredients: Hominy, Butternut Squash, and Napolitos  (pickled cactus!).
