Itinerary
Day 1
We’ll pick you up at the hotel and head south to Moab, UT, our home base for the next 6 days. Before we settle in to our first campsite along the Colorado River, we will explore some petroglyph panels and take a hike to our first of several arches, Bowtie and Corona Arch. We’ll enjoy the first of many campfires and star-filled nights!
Day 2
Landscape, Navajo, Double O…. Today we head out to the Devil’s Garden section of Arches National Park. It truly is a hiker’s playground with both easy and challenging trails past beautifully sculpted arches. Hit the trail and cover 7 miles of red rock terrain, or take your time and soak in the sun and beauty.
If time allows, we'll cover the Windows Section and Park Avenue, or we'll return another day for those. We'll settle back in to our campsite along the Colorado for another star-filled night!
Day 3
The vistas of the Island in the Sky District of Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse State Park rival that of Grand Canyon! Hike along the rims of the vast canyons and witness the changing colors as the sun travels across the layers of sandstone. Also see Upheaval Dome and Mesa Arch.
We'll move our base camp to the southern end of Moab and camp near the La Sal Mountains. Be prepared for some great sunrises and sunsets!
Day 4
Here is your chance to see some true backcountry by bike, jeep, or atv. We’ll set you up with a trusted local company to experience the red rocks of Moab in a different way. End the day with some free time in Moab and dinner out. If biking and off-roading is not your thing, no worries! We'll take you on one of the many local trails that rival those in the Parks!
Day 5
Spend the first part of the day rafting, kayaking or jet boating on the Colorado River and/or rappelling a secret canyon. Later in the day we will return to Arches for a picnic dinner and a sunset hike.
Day 6
Oh the choices we have! Moab is filled with great canyons, arches, and trails beyond what the National and State Parks have to offer. We’ll spend our last full day exploring several different trails. Don’t be surprised if we come across some petroglyphs, swim holes, or secret arches!
Or, if you missed one of the great activities Moab has to offer, we'll get that in today!
Day 7
We'll roll back into Salt Lake City between 10-12noon, exchange emails so we can share photos, and say our goodbyes to all of our new friends!
