Day 1
Depart Las Vegas
We'll enjoy and afternoon drive to
Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, through scenic Virgin River Gorge
and the red rocks country of southwestern Utah. We'll settle
into our cabins and cottages and get acquainted with our
surroundings.

Day 2 and 3
Our first morning will consist of a tour of the Best Friends
Facilities. Volunteer with the animals in the afternoon and the
following in a morning and afternoon sessions. "Sleepovers" with
dogs and cats from the sanctuary may be possible! |

Day 3 and 4
We'll finish up our volunteer duties in the morning and head to
Grand Canyon (June, Aug) or Zion (Oct). We'll do some light
hiking and exploring in the afternoon. At Grand Canyon, we'll
set up a base camp and cookout. At Zion, we'll stay at Flanigans
Inn, just outside the park. |

Day 5
We will return to the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas by 3PM. |

Weather
Warm to hot days and cooler nights. The temperatures drop off quickly in the
desert! |
Hikes
This tour is a lighter hiking tour. Hikes are generally
fairly non-technical and 2-5 miles in length. There is always something for
everyone! Other activities include ranger programs and
museums. |
Food
Meals will be provided for you. They will be Vegan and
Vegetarian.

You can volunteer to work with the horses,
or visit them in the evening, as they are located close by to
the cabins and cottages. |

We'll take a tour of the Best Friends
Facilities in a passenger van. Best Friends is situated on 3,000
acres! |

Angel's Rest is a very special place. It is where
the animals from Best Friends are laid to rest. |
|
You'll get two chances to see sunrise and
sunset at Grand Canyon on the May and August tours! |
|
Zion Canyon is filled with great hiking
opportunities for every level of hiker. You can also enjoy the
park on the shuttle
if you are not a hiker. |

Chico, Roscoe, and Prunella are the dogs
that stayed with us in the cottages last May.

You can volunteer to work with all kinds
of animals, dogs, cats, rabbits, pot bellied pigs, goats, birds,
horses and more! |
